Founded in 1992, Illini Eyecare is honored to serve the Champaign and Piatt counties, along with their neighboring communities. As a proud member of the Monticello Chamber of Commerce, our practice is led by Dr. Johnson, an optometry specialist based in Monticello. With over 40 years of diverse expertise, Dr. Johnson excels in family eye care, offering services such as pediatric eye exams, contact lens fittings, eye surgery co-management, adult eye care, comprehensive disease detection and treatment, as well as cataracts detection, glaucoma monitoring, and yearly diabetic eye maintenance.

I had a wonderful experience. Staff is friendly, kind and helpful. Dr. Johnson was thorough and very nice. He took time with me to understand my needs and find the best prescription strength for me. He explained everything in detail. They had a decent selection of eyewear to choose from. There was a frame I liked and staff offered to order it in a different color for me to try on to see if I liked the color. I felt they went above and beyond to help me. I have VSP insurance and using it was streamline in their office. I received top notch service with a small town feel - which is hard to find! Very pleased with my experience and would recommend.
