About Us

Established in 1992, Illini Eyecare, a member of the Monticello Chamber of Commerce, is proud to serve our local area which includes Champaign and Piatt counties and other surrounding communities. LOCATED in Monticello, Dr. Johnson is an optometry specialist with over 35 years of diverse experience. Dr. Johnson has extensive experience in family eye care, including pediatric eye examination, contact lens fitting, eye surgery co-management, adult eye care, as well as disease detection, treatment, and follow-up.

New Patient paperwork is the last 4 documents on the insurance page. You can print it, fill it out, and bring it to your appointment!

I have been going to the office in Monticello-along with my 3 children and husband-for around 13 years. They have treated every member of my family and we have all had amazing experiences. I can honestly say my children who are 4, 8 and 12 at this moment in time actually look forward to going for their appointments. If you have glasses break, run out of contacts or any other issue-you can just drop in and they are more than willing to help you. I had an eye injury a year ago and they got me worked into their Champaign office schedule since Monticello was closed. I was in horrible pain and they got me fixed up quickly. The staff is amazing and I honestly cannot say enough about them. Literally everyone in that office is professional, kind and courteous.
